Bergeron Suffers Concussion, Broken Nose On Cheap Hit
Bruins Lose 2-1
"After initially losing consciousness on the ice, Patrice has
regained consciousness and has been taken to Massachusetts
General Hospital where he is undergoing a series of tests.
Patrice has sustained a concussion and a broken nose. The
initial x-rays and CT scan have not shown any other serious
injury to his head or neck, and he has full feeling and
motion in all of his extremities.
We will continue to monitor Patrice and await the final results
of his medical studies" ~ Dr. Bertram Zarins

Coach Wants More Offense
"It's finishing chances, bearing down, and paying the price," said Julien, who worked his players through one of their harder practices yesterday. "I think we could have had more chances - quality chances - if we decided to play a little harder in those areas. I find that too many times we cross the blue line and prefer to spread out instead of having one guy go to the net. We've been hammering away at that since the first day of camp. So we just have to keep on them until it becomes a habit."

Too Manny Goals Against Fernandez
“It’s a very humbling game,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said. “Just when you think that you’re on top, you have to realize you can come back to earth pretty quick. We did that (last night). If anything, I thought we kind of lost our composure.”

Charlie Pierce Sounds Off on Bruins Fan Base"...Don't change. Don't lose faith. Don't ponder the question of whether the people who own your favorite team really want to win. Don't think too long and too hard about what suckers you'd have to be to keep falling for this con, year after year. Collectively, you're the last repository of legitimate public misery that the Boston sports fan has. Don't let all the rest of us down..."

The Bruins have informed the Vancouver Giants they will keep Lucic, the Western Hockey League star named most valuable player in last spring's Memorial Cup tournament, beyond the NHL's nine-game deadline for teenagers to be sent back to junior teams.

"We can start off in a box formation, then roll out to the umbrella," said head coach Claude Julien, who has kept Bergeron, a center, at or near the point with Chara, as Dave Lewis did last year. "We're giving teams different looks. If they set up a certain way, we can set up another way."
