“We’ve definitely had some different lineups and different line combinations

"I don't think we pushed Joe Thornton when he was here... he takes
it seriously, but he's still a 'teenager."
"We tried and came awful close to (Mike) Modano and (Peter) Forsberg."
"He (Mike Sullivan) represents the organization as well as anybody we've had in that position"

Mike O'Connell ranked 9th worst GM in sports
Even though Boston is playing their best hockey of the season right now,
Fox Sports has come out with an article identifying the worst GM's in sports
Now the Bruins are sinking rapidly from playoff contention and heads could roll.
"I'm not there anymore," Thornton said, when asked about the fallout. "It's not
my team. I don't care anymore." ~ Fox Sports
Last time we checked, the Bruins are only 4 points out of
the playoffs, but they are sinking? Another fine article by Fox Sports

Other teams are bulking up, shouldn't the Bruins?
"The role of fighting and the need for enforcers in the “new”
NHL is open to debate, but it suddenly seems like the Bruins
are one of the few teams going the pacifistic route. That might
just prove to be yet another “flawed strategy” by the club
this year." ~ Douglas Flynn, Boston Herald

Are his days as a Bruin numbered?
Goaltender Andrew Raycroft was absent from practice yesterday with rookie Jordan Sigalet
back up from Providence to join Tim Thomas in net. That, of course, sparked rumors and
speculation that Raycroft would be dealt to Edmonton for winger Raffi Torres and goaltender
Ty Conklin. ~ Boston Herald, 1/19/06
Taken from Globe chat with Kevin Paul Dupont:
Q: Do you see the Bruins dealing either Toivenen or Raycroft,
especially if Thomas continues to produce?
A: Yes, I can see it is a possibility, and today's decision, to leave Raycroft home (knee issues), makes
me suspicious. If they could flip Raycroft a top six forward (center, or power forward), I think they
would have to do it. ~ Kevin Paul Dupont, Boston Globe 1/18/06

Mike "Uh-Oh" O'Connell is an American Idiot
"It's been disappointing. The strategy we've taken was flawed - not having really any players signed
(coming out of the lockout). We didn't get a 24 per cent rollback, really. We basically prepared for
two or three years before the lockout not to have any contracts. We didn't lock up anyone.
Other teams were doing so. It's a strategy that we took and it didn't really help us.
Then we had to build a team basically in a week and a half, two weeks at the most. We
were forced to overspend and didn't really get the pieces in place." ~ Mike O'Connell

but our trouble scoring in general." ~ Boston Globe
