What? We've Got Plenty Of Time

(bostonbruins.com)
Charlie's song to the Bruins' faithful
To the tune of the band Boston "Foreplay/Longtime"
It's been such a long time
Since we've hung a banner
And time doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rollin'
Sail on, on a distant highway
I've got to keep on chasin' a dream
I've gotta be on my way
Wish there was something I could say.
Just buy some concessions.
Well I'm takin' my time, I'm not movin' on
We'll get our GM once all the good one's gone
And I take what I find, I don't want no more
Jeff Gorton's right at our front door.
It's been such a long time. It's been such a long time.
Well I get so lonely without Mike O'Connell
But in my mind, deep in my mind,
I know we still have Harry
Mad fans, and their faces to remind me
I'm tryin' to forget their names and get them all behind me
I'll never make a signing...
Well I'm takin' my time, I'm not movin' on
We'll get our GM once all the good one's gone
And I'll take what I find, I don't want no more
Jeff Gorton's right at our front door.
It's been such a long time. It's been such a long time.
Yeah. It's been such a long time, I really should be goin', yeah
But you know I never will, I'll keeps on rollin' in dough
There's a long road, I've gotta stay in time with
I've got to keep on chasin' that dream, and help my daddy find it
Just pick some food and buy it
The beer is good just try it...
Well I'm takin' my time, I'm not movin' along
Takin' my time, just movin' along
Takin' my time, takin' my time...

The Boston Bruins Hold The 5th Pick In The 2006 NHL Entry Draft
Let's take a look at potential draft picks...
Erik Johnson - Defense
He's 6-4, 222 pounds and he turned 18, so there's room to get bigger and stronger. A two-way defenseman, he makes smart decisions with the puck in the defensive zone, passes well, shoots hard and plays a physical game along the boards and on open ice. A native of Bloomington, Minn., he spent the past two years with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program and plans to play for Minnesota next season. He has 12 goals and 33 assists in 39 games for the U.S. under-18 team heading into Thursday's semifinal at the world under-18 hockey championship. Johnson is the kind of stud defenseman an NHL team can build its defense around and there aren't any other blue-liners like that among the top prospects.
Phil Kessel - Center
A 6-0, 189-pound forward from Madison, Wis., Kessel has hair-trigger speed and gifted hands which he put to use scoring 18 goals and collecting 33 assists in 39 games in his freshman year at Minnesota. He's been on the radar of NHL scouts since scoring edge-of-your seat goals at last year's world junior hockey championship as a 17-year-old. Kessel was considered the undisputed No. 1 pick before this year's world junior championship, but the prospect pack has closed on him since January.
Jonathan Toews - Center
This 17-year-old forward from Winnipeg is smart and skilled with maturity and determination beyond his years. Now 6-2, 195 pounds, he finished fourth in scoring in his freshman year at the University of North Dakota with 21 goals and 17 assists in 41 games. He's not high-octane like Kessel, but probably has a more complete game. He uses his body to create space for himself, finishes checks, is defensively responsible and makes his linemates better.
Jordan Staal - Center
With those bloodlines, how could a team go wrong in picking a Staal? Oldest brother Eric is a star for the Carolina Hurricanes. Older brother Marc was named the top defenseman at this year's world junior hockey championship and likely will be in a New York Rangers uniform next season. Jordan is a 6-4, 209-pound forward with a long reach and puckhandling skills to go with it, plus good foot speed for a big player. Staal doesn't turn 18 until September, yet was an impact player for OHL Peterborough during the regular season with 28 goals, 40 assists in 68 games.
Niklas Backstrom - Center
It's a race between this Swedish center and Czech winger Michael Frolik as to who will be the top European taken in this draft. Backstrom, 6-0 and 180 pounds, led Sweden in scoring at the world junior hockey championship with four goals and three assists in six games. He played for Brynas in the Swedish Elite League and had 11 goals and 16 assists in 50 games. International Scouting Service says Backstrom has superior hockey sense and passing skills and plays with heart and passion.
Peter Mueller - Center
A former linemate of Kessel's on the U.S. under-18 team, Mueller is in line for the Western Hockey League's rookie-of-the year award after scoring 26 goals and adding 32 assists in 52 regular-season games for WHL Everett. A Bloomington, Minn., product, he is also one of his team's top postseason scorers. A creative 6-2, 200-pound forward who can skate and has hands as skilled as any in this draft class shouldn't drop out of the top 10.
Michael Frolik - Right Wing
This 6-1, 187-pound winger was only 17, yet played alongside men in the Czech elite league for Kladno, scoring twice and adding seven assists in 48 games. Skating ability is his forte and has soft hands and hockey sense to go with it. He had a more productive world junior tournament at 16, however, than he did this year at 17.
A top 5 pick should nab a top flight player
